Formula and method

Most conversions multiply by a factor relative to a base unit: result = value × (from factor ÷ to factor). Temperature uses offset formulas: °F = °C × 9/5 + 32 and K = °C + 273.15. Data storage lists decimal units (KB = 1,000 B) and binary units (KiB = 1,024 B) separately. Volume gallons are labelled US or UK.
